Welcome!

Hi! Welcome to my physical therapy blog! For over 38 years, I have treated clients with orthopedic and neuromusculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. This includes problems from head to toe, including spinal pain, arm and leg problems, pelvic floor and women's health complaints, and jaw joint (TMJ) dysfunction. My clients include those with pain and movement dysfunction from sports, pregnancy, recreational and leisure activities, occupational and motor vehicle accidents, as well as those with chronic ailments such as arthritis or problems that commenced for no particular reason. I also have a strong interest in evaluation and treatment of pelvic pain problems, associated disorders involving pelvic floor dysfunction, and abdominal wall problems such as diastasis rectus abdominis.

I am passionate about helping people feel and move better. As a professional student with over 2,600 hours of postgraduate training, my coursework has emphasized assessment and treatment techniques using Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) as taught in Kaiser Vallejo's 3 month residency program, The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), and advanced manual therapy courses by Stan Paris, PT, The North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT), Geoff Maitland, PT, and Brian Mulligan, PT. Hundreds of hours have been devoted to movement dysfunction and re-training courses emphasizing theories, evaluation, and treatment by Shirley Sahrmann, PT (Movement System Impairments), Diane Lee, PT (Integrated Systems Model and Abdominal Wall After Pregnancy: Diastasis Rectus Abdominis), LJ Lee, PT (ConnectTherapy), and Kathe Wallace, PT (Pelvic floor). I am certified in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), NAIOMT, and also by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a Certified Clinical Instructor. Other physical therapy experiences include serving as a teaching assistant for Shirley Sahrmann's "Diagnosis and Treatment of Movement Impairment Syndromes," a series of continuing education courses taught by Carrie Hall, PT; McKenzie Method training sessions; and PNF courses. I also developed and taught a Back School program for patients and was honored to present my program at an American Back Society annual conference.

During the early stages of my career, I worked in the greater Los Angeles area. My family then moved to Seattle in 1992. The majority of my practice in Seattle has been at Movement System Physical Therapy (17 years), but I now own a mobile PT practice, Robin Angus Physical Therapy, PLLC, serving the metropolitan Seattle area.
